West Ham must not miss out on this glorious opportunity to sign Jesse Lingard on a cut-price deal in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old, hailed as “phenomenal” by talkSPORT host Adrian Durham last season, has struggled for regular games at Old Trafford this season, and the Red Devils are looking to sell him in January.
The England international has only managed eight appearances thus far. He has impressed every time he took the pitch, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has other plans.
The situation in the summer
Lingard enjoyed a phenomenal loan spell at West Ham after joining in January. It was widely expected that he would make the permanent switch but his £25m price tag was deemed too high.
Also, he wanted to give himself one last shot to break into the starting line-up on a regular basis and stayed on as a result.
After just managing 154 minutes of game time, he now understands that extending his stay at his boyhood club won’t be a good option.
Lingard showed he still can be a lethal weapon if used properly. David Moyes knows how to use him. All he needs is to be at a club where he is loved and playing under a manager who trusts him. West Ham and Moyes are perfect for him.
The Hammers need to sign a striker and a defender this January, but surely at £10m, the board must allow Moyes to snap up Lingard.
Newcastle are also interested and they can come up with a better offer, but Moyes must convince him to move to London instead.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are readying a bid to sign this 31-cap South-American star.
