West Ham have to make a January move for Braga striker Vitor Oliveira after a new claim emerged.
Gianluigi Longari claimed that the Irons wanted the 21-year-old known as Vitinha, and now a new report from Tuttomercatoweb claims that the Irons are in pole position.
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the striker, but it seems as if the Irons have the advantage.
If this report is true, then they have to make a move early in January to strike ahead of their Premier League rivals and get Vitinha into the London Stadium.
There are a few things that should tip any transfer in West Ham’s favour.
One, Spurs have Harry Kane and a few youth strikers who could be ahead of Vtinha.
Meanwhile, the Irons only have Michail Antonio in their squad.
They also are developing a new transfer strategy focused on signing young and hungry players, and Vitinha certainly fits that brief and could be exactly what they need.
He is currently Braga’s joint-top goalscorer in all competitions with seven goals in nine games, so you can see why the Irons are looking at him and thinking that he could be the man to come in and support Antonio [transfermarkt].
You would hope that the Irons take advantage of the position they find themselves in and swoop ahead of Spurs to sign a player who looks to have a bright future.
There will be other strikers out there, but Vitinha could be the man that Moyes needs.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are desperate to sell Andriy Yarmolenko.
